Honeyed grapes

honeyed grapes

Easy
Elegant

Thanks to Cathy in Vancouver for this recipe:

  • 1lb Thompson seedless grapes (about 2 1/2 c.)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 c honey (4 tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • sour cream or creme fraiche to serve

This is an easy recipe and you can make it look very elegant - or just a bit posh - depending on what glasses you choose you put it in.

The above quantities make enough for 4 - 6 servings.

Wash the fruit and remove stems. Put in a bowl.

Mix the lemon juice, honey and brandy. (Keep stirring until it becomes less sticky and more liquid in texture.)

Pour this mixture over the fruit. Refrigerate for 24 hrs.

At the picnic serve in tall crystal sherbet glasses (or cocktail glasses as in the picture). Just before serving top the desert with sour cream or crème fraiche.
